BJP IT chief Amit Malviya faces allegations of ‘sexual exploitation’ by RSS member; Congress demands action

The Congress on Monday sought action against Bharatiya Janata Party’s IT chief Amit Malviya after a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh member alleged that Malviya was “involved” in the sexual exploitation of women.

RSS, a Hindu paramilitary organization, is the ideological wing of the BJP.

“An RSS member, Shantanu Sinha, who is related to BJP leader Rahul Sinha, has said that BJP’s IT department head Amit Malviya is involved in nefarious activities. He is involved in sexual exploitation of women. Not only in 5-star hotels but also in BJP offices in West Bengal,” Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said in a press conference.

“The only thing we are demanding from the BJP is justice for women. The reality is that less than 24 hours after Prime Minister Modi was sworn in, serious allegations of sexual exploitation have been made against a very prominent office-bearer of the BJP, the head of its IT department. Today, we are demanding the immediate removal of Amit Malviya from his post. It is an extremely influential post,” she added.

Malviya is a controversial Hindutva personality who has been accused of hate speech against Muslims and spreading false information on social media.
