40 dead cats found after house fire in Hong Kong’s New Territories

About 40 Cats were found dead after a fire broke out in an abandoned tin-roofed house in Hong Kong’s New Territories, The Post has learned.

At 11:12 a.m. on Monday, police received a report that a two-story house on Kam Shui South Road in Pat Heung had caught fire.

The fire department dispatched a team equipped with breathing apparatus and extinguished the fire at 12:29 p.m.

A source familiar with the case said the house was an abandoned dog kennel and firefighters later discovered the carcasses of about 40 cats.

No injuries to residents were reported and no evacuation was required.

The insider said police are still trying to contact the kennel’s manager and are investigating the cause of the fire.
