Connecticut man arrested after attacking two people with ‘sharp weapon’

Keenan Corley, 38, was identified as a suspect and arrested after two women were attacked with an “edged weapon” on Knowlton Street, police said.

BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut – A man was arrested Sunday after two people were attacked with an “edged weapon” in Bridgeport, city police said.

Keenan Corley, 38, of Bridgeport is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first-degree assault.

According to police, officers initially arrived at a local hospital at 4:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a 47-year-old woman with a cut on her neck.

A 33-year-old woman was also taken to hospital a short time later with a laceration on her neck, police said.

The two women had left the Forty 2 Hookah Lounge and were walking along Knowlton Street when they were both attacked by Corley, who was armed with a “sharp weapon,” police said. He then fled the scene on foot.

According to police, one of the women had a domestic relationship with Corley. Both are expected to survive their injuries.

Police said the area of Knowlton Street in the 200th block was closed during the police investigation and has since reopened to traffic.

The Bridgeport Police Department’s Detective Bureau is conducting the investigation under the direction of Sergeant Sue Cortello, police said.
