State police arrest Clay Township man accused of raping children | Local news

A Clay Township man is accused of child rape after a woman said he repeatedly attacked her as a child.

State police on Wednesday charged 71-year-old Frank Breneman of the 600 block of Hopeland Road with child rape and seven other related counts in connection with the sexual assault of two children between 2004 and 2016. State police said the children were between the ages of 4 and 11.

During their investigation, police identified a third child who claimed Breneman sexually abused him. As of Friday, no charges had been made public in that third case.

According to the criminal complaint, at least one of the children came forward as an adult and testified to state police about the abuse.

Breneman is in the Lancaster County Jail after failing to post $500,000 bail. He has not been assigned an attorney for either charge and his next hearing is scheduled for June 11.

State police are asking anyone with information about Breneman or the sexual abuse allegations to contact Investigating Trooper Edward Zema at 717-299-7650.
