Man arrested after allegedly damaging campaign signs for Miami-Dade Commission candidate Keon Hardemon – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – A man has been arrested and accused of engaging in dirty politics ahead of an upcoming local election in Miami-Dade County.

The suspect is accused of damaging campaign signs for Miami-Dade 3rd District Commissioner Keon Hardemon.

The vandalism resulted in Hardemon’s face on the shield being cut out of the banners.

The candidate expressed the hope that the defacement of campaign posters would come to an end after this arrest.

“Anyone who is participating in a campaign should not have to worry about someone damaging their campaign paraphernalia,” Hardemon said. “So I hope this behavior stops now and that someone has been arrested for a crime, namely damaging human property.”

The primary election for District 3 is scheduled for August 20.
