Woman armed with machete shot by police after two people were stabbed at Galveston women’s shelter

GALVESTON, Texas – A woman wielding a machete was reportedly shot by Galveston police after two people were stabbed at a women’s shelter, Galveston authorities said.

Officers responded to reports of a fight shortly after 9 a.m. at the shelter at 1204 45th Street

When officers arrived, the woman allegedly began banging on the officer’s window with a machete. Officers said she refused to drop the weapon and was eventually shot by an officer.

Two others were found with stab wounds in the women’s shelter.

The victims and the suspect were taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
