Sheriff’s Office provides update on Trempealeau County murder investigation

TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – The name of the victim was released today in a Trempealeau County homicide investigation that began last month.

A June 4 press release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office named 36-year-old Kyle Dahl of Ettrick, Wisconsin, as the deceased victim. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on May 15 near Highway 53 and County Road TT in Ettrick.

The sheriff’s office continues to believe this is an isolated incident and is continuing to follow up on leads.

A suspect was arrested and remains in custody on other charges. Investigators are working on their reports and will turn the case over to the Trempealeau County District Attorney’s Office in the near future. No charges have been filed.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to ask the public for help in obtaining surveillance and dashboard camera video from May 15 between 7 and 9 p.m. in the area between Galesville and Blair, Wisconsin.
