Interstate 25 in Colfax County reopened after police collision

Northbound traffic on Interstate 25 has reopened at mile marker 414 following an incident Saturday sparked by a car crash in the area. Southbound traffic was also closed at mile marker 419 because of the crash, but reopened Sunday morning. A spokesman for the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office said the incident began around 11:40 p.m. Saturday after a crash was reported on I-25 northbound near mile marker 416. The spokesman said when a deputy arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle threatened to shoot him. The deputy retreated and additional police officers were called in. After several hours, the incident ended with the driver’s arrest.

Northbound traffic on Interstate 25 was reopened at mile marker 414 following an accident caused by a car crash in the area on Saturday. Southbound traffic was also closed at mile marker 419 due to the accident, but reopened Sunday morning.

A spokesman for the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. Saturday after a crash was reported on I-25 northbound near mile marker 416.

The spokesman said when an officer arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle threatened to shoot him. The officer backed away and additional police were called.

After several hours, the incident ended with the arrest of the driver.
