Man in hospital after attack in Castle Park in Bristol

A police investigation has been launched after a man was attacked in a park in Bristol city centre and taken to hospital with a cut to his leg. Officers have been appealing for witness statements after the man was attacked in Castle Park in the heart of the city early on Saturday evening.

Witnesses reported the attack, but when emergency services arrived, the victim had already disappeared. He was later found in hospital with a wound to his thigh.

Police are unable to say at this stage how the man was injured or whether a weapon was used to inflict what they described as a “cut wound”. Officers from Avon and Somerset Police are currently combing through CCTV footage for clues.
