MCPD: Man wanted for murder of his parole officer arrested in West Virginia

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Maryland (DC News Now) — The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said it arrested a man on Saturday after On Friday afternoon, he is said to have killed his probation officer.

Emanuel Edward Sewell, 54 – a registered sex offender who was released from prison in 2021 – was caught on I-64 near Hurricane, West Virginia.

Police believe Sewell killed 33-year-old Davis Martinezhis parole officer, during a resident check at his Chevy Chase apartment in the 2800 block of Terrace Drive.

MCPD arrived at the residence around 5:50 p.m. after Martinez failed to return to work. They found him dead inside the home, suffering from multiple injuries.

Sewell has been charged with first-degree murder and will be extradited to Montgomery County.
