Bills WR Curtis Samuel happy to reunite with Joe Brady in Buffalo

Having already worked together in Carolina, the Bills wide receiver knows Buffalo’s new offensive coordinator well.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Curtis Samuel’s goal is simple.

“Just show them why they brought you here,” Samuel said. “Just do the things they brought you here to do. Be excited and have fun.”

Samuel was one of the first faces the Bills brought in this offseason, as the wide receiver room gets a makeover.

Samuel is new to this team, but not new to new offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

“When I was with him at Carolina, there were some things he hadn’t done before that. We had an injury at our running back position and we were like, ‘Curtis can do that,’ or hey , you know what, let’s go. “I put Curtis out there and he was able to adjust and adjust to that,” Brady said. “Same type of football player. It is extremely bright. He can play any position. Play inside, play outside, play in the backfield. Whatever he has to do. I don’t see any difference in the style of play. One of the best blockers I’ve been around. The more Curtis Samuels you have on your football team, the better.

High praise for Samuel from the OC, although that also comes with high expectations.

“Dang! He embarrassed me like that? Now y’all gonna watch my block on film and (if) I made a mistake, now it’ll be on Twitter,” Samuel said. “It’s just in my nature to play running back. I’m just not afraid to put my head in. Make a good block. I’m just confident. I try to hit you before you hit me .”

And if you didn’t already know, the Brady-Samuel connection remains strong even after years of separation.

“Joe is sweet, I’m not going to lie,” Samuel said. “You see him there, he looks like he’s got some swag going for him. He’s smooth and it’s just good to have that. Having a young coach, it’s just good to see that.

While we wait to see just what Coach can do as he reunites with Curtis Samuel.
