Weather warning: Flood warning issued, parking on neutral ground permitted

NOLA Ready issued a warning Friday afternoon as 0.5 to 1.25 inches of rain had already fallen in the region.

Places at risk for minor flooding include New Orleans, Chalmette, Harvey, Belle Chasse, Gretna, Arabi,
Terrytown and Lakefront Airport.

The warning is valid until 6:15 p.m.

At the same time, New Orleans authorities allow parking on neutral ground until the warning is lifted.

Please do not block intersections, tram tracks, sidewalks or bike paths.

Avoid flooding
– NEVER drive through flood water. This is dangerous for you and your vehicle and can push water into nearby homes and businesses.
-If the water rises around your car, exit the car immediately.

Report flood
– Call 911 to report flooding and life-threatening emergencies.
