2 dead in possible murder-suicide in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Florida. – Two people were found dead early Friday after a possible murder-suicide at a home in Umatilla, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious text message and responded to the call to a home on South Kentucky Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man and a woman were found dead inside.

“The victims exhibited signs of homicidal trauma and Lake County Detectives are on scene investigating the possible murder-suicide. No other victims were found at the scene and there were no signs of danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The deputies did not say how the man and the woman knew each other.

The investigation is ongoing.
