Couple arrested after 2-year-old son found unconscious from drug overdose

BETHEL, Ohio — A couple was arrested after their 2-year-old son was found unconscious from an overdose on Sunday, Bethel police said.

Following a police investigation, 23-year-old Travis Lelesch and 23-year-old Ashley Lelesch, the child’s parents, have been charged with child endangerment.

According to police, someone called 911 on Sunday and said “the couple’s 2-year-old son was unresponsive.”

The child was initially taken to Mercy Health-Anderson Hospital before being flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Police said the two-year-old had overdosed and “high levels of marijuana and cocaine” were found in his system, but doctors were able to save him.

The couple is in custody at the Clermont County Jail.

The two-year-old was handed over to the youth welfare office.

It is unclear what caused the overdose or how the child came into contact with the substances.

The couple is scheduled to appear in court at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
