Garner retired from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 after 22 years of service as a lieutenant. The Sheriff’s Office said Dep. Garner retired from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office in 2021 after 22 years of service as a lieutenant. After his retirement, he returned to the Sheriff’s Office, where he currently works part-time as a bailiff.

“Rest in peace, good and faithful servant, we will take care of the rest,” the sheriff’s office said. “Please keep your daughters, their families, friends and colleagues in mind and pray for them.”

Sheriff’s office officials said funeral arrangements are “not yet complete at this time.”

There is no further information about what caused the crash.
