Tigard police identify motorcyclist killed in crash and say speed played a role

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Tigard police have identified a 27-year-old motorcyclist who died Friday when he struck a median and crashed his motorcycle, authorities said.

Witnesses said Jacob Gould of Aloha was driving northbound on SW Roy Rogers Road when he attempted to pass a Dodge Ram truck and crashed near SW Perth Road. It was previously reported that a second vehicle was involved in the accident.

A witness, a nurse, attempted to perform CPR on Gould almost immediately after the incident, but officials said he died at the scene when the Tualatin Valley Fire Department arrived.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but believe speed was a likely factor.
