Florida wells closed due to attempted murder investigation

GILCHRIST COUNTY, Florida. – The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office has announced it is investigating an attempted murder in Ginnie Springs that occurred Saturday night, according to News 6 affiliate WJXT.

According to officers, they responded to an attempted murder that occurred on the road in the park between Devil’s Spring and Tube Launch around 11:30 p.m.

Ginnie Springs has announced on its website and social media accounts that the park is temporarily closed.

Officers from Gilchrist County and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement were on scene conducting the investigation and attempting to identify witnesses and a “person of interest.”

Officers described the “outstanding individual” as a woman in her early 20s, approximately 5’10” to 6’10” tall, fit and muscular, with long braids and light-tinted contact lenses. She was also wearing a green bikini top or a dark, multi-colored patterned top and bikini bottoms or shorts, according to officers.

“She remained in the area all day and was last seen walking toward the park exit,” officials wrote.

News4JAX called Ginnie Springs to inquire about this incident and they said they had no comment.
