Victim identified in fatal motorcycle crash in Millcreek

At least one person was killed in an accident between a car and a motorcycle on Tuesday.

Calls first came in around noon Tuesday about a two-vehicle crash in the 4100 block of West 12th Street, just one block east of Erie International Airport.

According to reports from the scene, Erie County Coroner Lyle Cook was called to the scene and later pronounced the driver of the motorcycle dead at the scene.

The victim has since been identified as 52-year-old Jamey Umland of Erie.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., PennDOT closed the area of ​​West 12th Street between Shenk Avenue and Montpelier Avenue while emergency crews continued to investigate and clear the scene. The area will be open again from 2:55 p.m.

Millcreek Police continue to investigate.
