Child in Luling attacked by family dog ​​and hospitalized

LULING, Louisiana (WGNO) – A child was hospitalized Friday, May 24, after being attacked by a family dog ​​in Luling.

According to officials with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, they were called to a home in the 100 block of West Heather Drive around 11:30 a.m. for a report that an 11-year-old boy had been bitten by a dog.


Officers who responded to the call said the child had been bitten on the leg and had a tourniquet placed on him because of the bleeding.

Deputies report that Schild had to be flown to hospital by helicopter for treatment. His condition is said to be stable.

The dog was taken into care by the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter.
