Hudson man arrested after months-long drug investigation

HUDSON, NY (NEWS10) – A months-long drug investigation led to the arrest of a Hudson man on Wednesday. 49-year-old Malik Hawkins faces multiple charges.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, officers executed a search warrant Tuesday on a 2014 Honda Crosstour and a residence on Warren Street. During the execution of the search warrant, officers said they found 51.4 grams of fentanyl, 29 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 33 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, and approximately 200 ecstasy pills.

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (two counts)
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (two counts)

Hawkins was arraigned Wednesday and remanded without bail. Officials say he was also wanted on a warrant from the Albany City Police Department for first-degree criminal contempt.
