Suspect arrested for attempted murder in Lewes in 2023 | Latest news

LEWES, DE – Delaware State Police investigators have arrested an 18-year-old on a 2023 attempted murder charge.

Delaware State Police report they have arrested 18-year-old Lewis M. Cameron of Hyattsville, Maryland, on a charge of attempted murder.

On October 8, 2023, at approximately 6:01 p.m., authorities responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Maple Court in Lewes. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 29-year-old Millsboro man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the home.

Delaware State Police say investigators identified Lewis M. Cameron as a suspect through investigative procedures.

According to DSP, Lewis M. Cameron was extradited from Maryland to Delaware on May 10, 2024. He was accused of the following crimes.

– Attempted first degree murder

– Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Cameron was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,209,100 cash bond.
