First warning: Looking ahead to Mother’s Day

(KFVS) – Sunny, warm weather awaits you today – great weather for Mother’s Day!

Lows will be in the low to mid 50s this morning, but we will see temperatures rise through the afternoon – slightly warmer than yesterday.

Skies will be mostly sunny and highs will be in the low 80s, making it a beautiful day to celebrate Mother’s Day!

Chief meteorologist Grant Dade says there may be another chance to see the Northern Lights this evening. However, we will see the clouds increase later and there is a chance of a few small, isolated showers.

What you should really prepare for is heavier rain starting overnight and increasing into Monday afternoon. A storm system will also bring the threat of thunderstorms, but at this point the greatest severe weather risks should remain to our south.

It will be mostly cloudy and temperatures will remain significantly cooler than today. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.

Rain chances will increase on Tuesday, but we will see some calm conditions through Friday.
