Man accused of killing Houston lawyer turns himself in

Police say Anthony Landry argued with employees because he wanted a refund. Jeffrey Limmer, 46, intervened to calm the customer before he was shot.

HOUSTON — Police say the suspect wanted In connection with the shooting death, a Houston lawyer is in custody.

Anthony Martin Landry, 57, turned himself in Friday, according to Houston police. He is accused of murder.

The victim, Jeffrey Limmer, 46, was shot and killed after trying to intervene in an argument between Landry and employees at a west Houston McDonald’s last weekend, HPD said.

This happened on Katy Highway near Chimney Rock around 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Police say Landry was arguing with employees because he wanted a refund for his order. Limmer stepped in to try to calm Landry down, but he instead turned his attention to Limmer.

Limmer and Landry came out and an argument began. Limmer pushed Landry down, police said. Landry went to his car, pulled out a gun and shot Limmer, investigators said.

Limmer was an associate in the Houston office of the law firm Lewis Brisbois. According to his biography on the company’s website, Limmer attended the University of Texas at Austin and the South Texas College of Law.

His family released the following statement prior to Landry’s arrest.

“Our family is relieved to learn that the suspect has been identified, and we pray that he is apprehended as quickly as possible so that he cannot harm anyone else. Additionally, we pray for the safety of the force of order as they strive to bring it to justice.
