Rape: 23-year-old man charged with rape over marriage proposal in Piplani | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A 23-year-old man has been booked for raping a woman with a promise of marriage. Police said the 24-year-old survivor told police that she met the accused through a social media platform in 2023. The accused is a resident of Sonagiri in Piplani area. He was looking for a job at the time. The defendant lured the survivor into his trap and befriended her, the survivor told the police. He called her for a meeting and took her to a hotel in the Piplani area in September 2023, where he raped her. When she protested, the defendant promised to marry her. He had raped her repeatedly over the past six months. Then he got a job in Mumbai and went there. When the woman contacted him and asked him to marry her, he refused. On Thursday, the woman reported the matter to the police, after which a complaint was filed against the accused for rape.
