One dead after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One person died after being struck by a vehicle in northeast Las Vegas on Friday, police said.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a person was struck by a vehicle just before 6:45 a.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and Lamont Street in northeast Las Vegas. According to the LVMPD release, that person was pronounced dead, although it was not immediately clear whether the victim died at the scene or at a local hospital.


No information was given about the identity of the victim or the circumstances of the fatal accident. Police said the vehicle involved remained at the scene of the accident, but no impairment was suspected.

LVMPD investigators will continue to investigate the crash. Commuters are asked to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
