Lawrence County deputy killed in motorcycle crash in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO, WAWV) – A 25-year-old Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputy died in a motorcycle crash in Greene County Saturday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m., the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on East State Road 445, near the Interstate 69 on-ramps.


According to authorities, a preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the motorcycle had left the road for an unknown reason.

Despite life-saving measures, the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in Bloomington, where he was pronounced dead.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has identified the motorcyclist as Brenten Trueblood of Bedford.

In a Facebook post, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office asked the public to pray for Trueblood’s family, friends and department.

“Words cannot express how sad we are about the tragic passing of Deputy Trueblood. He was one of a kind and demonstrated an unmatched work ethic every day. We will miss you greatly, sir. Rest assured, we care for you. We will never forget you.”
