“I just took a nap at the wheel!”

When Tiffany Haddish was charged with driving under the influence, she wasn’t “freaked out.”
The 44-year-old comedian was arrested in November 2023 for falling asleep at the wheel and was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of another sense.
Speaking on the Making Space with Hoda Kotb podcast, she said: “Every time I try to have fun, no matter what. You should have seen when I was arrested. I wish they could have filmed the whole thing. You probably.” did.
“But the police officers had a great time. I felt like I took a nap. I blew and it was a .03 and I went home and then I found out how famous I really was.”
“I don’t know what people think. I don’t know what they were thinking. I’m not in her brain. From what I saw online, people were like, ‘Ah, she’s finished. That’s it.’ “Your career is over.”
“And then my friends were like, ‘Girl, your ass was sleeping, wasn’t it?'”
The Girls Trip star has since stopped drinking alcohol, but admitted her decision to get sober had already been made when the incident occurred.
She said: “I had already made up my mind. I rarely drank like I did before because every day I woke up my body ached after drinking. Even after one drink my body ached!”
Meanwhile, Tiffany split from rapper Common, 52, in 2021 after just over a year of dating, and now that he’s in a relationship with former American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson, 42, she has her blessing sent, although she still finds it “strange” how their time together ended.
She said: “I love Jennifer! I hope they have fun. I hope they have fun. Girls, please! That was a great relationship. I had fun!”
