Investigation underway after man drowns in Walden Pond – Boston 25 News

CONCORD, Massachusetts – A man died Wednesday after being pulled from a pond in Concord.

According to state police, troopers were at Walden Pond just before 5:30 p.m. because a 62-year-old Allston man was struggling in the water. DCR lifeguards pulled the man from the water and Concord firefighters took him to Emerson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man’s identity is currently not being disclosed.

Investigators say the man was swimming outside the designated swimming area and was observed wearing snorkeling gear. Other swimmers reportedly found him unconscious about 60 yards from shore.

The investigations are still ongoing.
