Shooting investigation underway in the 3500 block of St. Francis Avenue – DPD Beat

On July 13, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 3500 block of St. Francis Avenue.

The preliminary investigation revealed that when officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Edward Upkins lying on the ground, shot to death. The Dallas Fire Department responded and transported Upkins to a local hospital, where he died. The investigation is ongoing and the case will be referred to a grand jury. The case is documented under the file number 107325-2024.
