Fennimore man seriously injured in accident | 97 Seven Country WGLR – The best country selection of the three states

At around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding an accident on Highway 18 near Brown School Road, east of Fennimore. in which the driver of A Vehicle was damaged. During the investigation, the deputy found The 49-year-old Walter Leffler of rural Fennimore was traveling west on the HHighway 18, when his vehicle left the road onto the north side of the highway, traveled on the shoulder for a distance before returning to the road. The vehicle then left the road, struck a culvert at a field entrance on the south side of the highway, crossed that entrance and struck an embankment. At some point, Leffler was from the vehicle and he appeared to have landed about 20 feet from where the car came to a stop. Leffler had severe injuries to his lower extremities and was taken to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries, where he was transported by air ambulance. Deputy certainly that Leffler had been drinking alcohol and a legal blood draw was performed. The accident is still under investigation.
