Car accidents in New Jersey

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released a report stating that the number of car accidents in the United States has increased by 11% since 2015. Over 6 million car accidents are reported each year in the United States, injuring more than 3 million people. Unfortunately, approximately 40,000 people die in these accidents each year. Driver negligence is the leading cause of car accidents in the United States, causing 90-99% of all reported car accidents.

Negligent drivers are one of the leading causes of car accidents in New York that result in serious personal injuries. Whether it’s a driver speeding, texting, or simply not following traffic laws, their apparent indifference to others often leads to collisions that could have been avoided. Negligent drivers often spend time in jail and pay large fines as a result of their careless and/or reckless behavior.

As our country’s population continues to grow, so does the number of inexperienced, angry, careless, inattentive and reckless drivers on our roads. Congested roads are just one of the many factors contributing to the increased number of car accidents. Another common cause of negligently caused accidents is distraction, which has increased significantly since the advent of smartphones in the last decade.

When two or more motor vehicles collide, there are often multiple victims who are seriously injured and expensive property damage occurs.
