Plans for Greer Police and Fire Training Center move forward: City Council note

Here is a recap of the July 9 Greer City Council meeting.

Initial approval: Incorporation, conversion to police/fire brigade training centre

The council approved a request to annex and rezone 4,735 acres on Hood Road.

A training center for police and firefighters is to be built on the municipal property.

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this property on July 15. This item will go before the City Council for final approval on July 23.

Final approval: rezoning to subdivision

The council approved two rezoning requests for 10.23 acres at 538 Abner Creek Road and 14.51 acres at 180 Joe Leonard Road.

The applicant, Arbor Land Design, plans to develop a parcel of 24.92 acres into 50 lots.

First approval: annexation, zoning for Spinx

Council approved an expansion and zoning application for 4.58 acres across three lots on Highway 101 and Reidville Road.

Spinx Co. plans to build a Spinx gas station and a supermarket on the property.

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this property on July 15. This item will go before the City Council for final approval on July 23.
