Hurricane Beryl: Metro Atlanta business owners to help Caribbean victims – WSB-TV Channel 2

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta business owner plans to travel to the island of St. Vincent on Monday to deliver emergency supplies to Hurricane Beryl survivors.

Yolande Horne-Payne owns Lady Boss Moss, a nutrition company based in Henry County. She said the hurricane destroyed the heart of her business, sea moss. However, her goal is to return to family and friends on her island home.

“To help for a day or two until major help arrives,” she said.

The biggest help comes from several groups made up of local leaders from the Caribbean community in the Atlanta metropolitan area. They all work together to collect donations and raise funds to help the islands.

“Help is on the way,” Lawrence Prescott said. “It’s a typical Caribbean feeling.”
