Rape: Woman raped for two years while attempting to marry her | News from Bhopal

Bhopal: A 26-year-old woman from Maharashtra was allegedly raped for two years by a Bairagarh-based textile entrepreneur in Nishatpura. Police said that the 26-year-old survivor hails from Maharashtra. She lives separately from her husband and has a minor daughter. She stated that she came in contact with the accused Nitesh Bablani, a resident of Bairagarh, through a social media platform about two years ago. Nitesh runs a textile business. The woman told Nitesh about her domestic problems, following which he called her to Bhopal to meet him and his family. He took her to a rented house in a colony in Nishatpura where he allegedly raped her. When she protested, the accused threatened to kill her daughter. However, when she threatened to report the matter to the police, he promised to marry her. He kept her in the rented house for the last two years and raped her repeatedly. Recently, on June 22, the accused disappeared after the woman pressured him to get married. He switched off his phone. When the woman reached his house in Bairagarh in search of him, his family members did not inform her about his whereabouts. Fed up of the torture, the woman approached the Nishatpura police and filed a complaint.
