Dover teenager arrested for weapons and drug offenses

CAMDEN/WYOMING, Del. – A 17-year-old Dover man is facing weapons and drug possession charges following a traffic stop last week. Delaware State Police say that just before 10 a.m. on June 28, an officer stopped the teen for not wearing a seatbelt. During the stop, he found the driver did not have a valid license. According to DSP, the officer also found marijuana wax and a loaded handgun and ammunition on him. The vehicle was found to be stolen from Ohio.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody and faces several charges, including carrying a concealed firearm, which is a felony. He was booked into the Vision Quest Detention Center on $16,202 bail.

The teenager is accused of the following:

Carrying a concealed firearm (felony)
Receiving a stolen firearm (felony)
Possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime (felony)
Possession of a deadly weapon by a person under 18 years of age (felony)
Possession of a deadly weapon by a person who is also in possession of a controlled substance (felony)
Possession of ammunition by persons under 18 years of age (felony)
Possession of marijuana under 18
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Driving without a valid driver’s license
The driver must wear a properly fastened seat belt
