Wisconsin missing persons investigations become death investigations

CLYMAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials at a Wisconsin sheriff’s office say they have upgraded a missing person case to a death investigation.

On Thursday, June 27, 37-year-old Crystal Rasch of Clyman was identified as missing from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. She had been missing since June 11.


Numerous transactions through her financial accounts were processed on Friday, June 28, and her The estranged husband, 42-year-old Zachariah Rasch, was taken into custody because of allegations of unauthorized use of a person’s personal data.

Zachariah appeared in Dodge County Court this Friday and was given a $250,000 bail after the court commissioner found probable cause.

According to an updated press release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Crystal’s disappearance is an ongoing investigation. As the investigation progressed, it was determined that this is no longer a missing person investigation. The case has been converted to a death investigation.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said no further details about the death investigation would be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Zachariah appeared in court for a review hearing on Wednesday, July 3. He will have another review hearing on July 10 before his preliminary hearing on August 1. He remains incarcerated in the Dodge County Jail.
