Republicans launch attack ads fearing Kamala Harris could replace Joe Biden

“I will be for Biden when Harris is not there, and I will be for Harris when Biden is not there,” he told USA Today.

Other Democrats were even more vocal: Former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan called on Biden to step aside and make room for Ms Harris.

“We need to rip the Band-Aid off! There is too much at stake,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, adding that Ms Harris had “clearly grown into her job.”

He added: “She will destroy Trump in the debates, bring electoral issues to the forefront, mobilize our base, win back young voters and bring us a generational shift. It’s time!”

Republicans went on the attack and responded by running commercials saying “Stop Kamala.”
