Seven people killed in Jeep crash in Nepal | World News

At least seven people, including a child, were killed and as many injured when a jeep skidded off a mountain road in western Nepal on Tuesday, police said.

The accident occurred in Parevachhahara, Madi Rural Municipality. The jeep, which was travelling from Ghartigaun, Madi Rural Municipality-2, to Talawang, skidded off the road and fell about 400 metres, police said.

He said seven of the 15 passengers died in the accident. Eight others, including the driver, were injured in the accident.

The injured were taken to a private hospital in Butawal district for treatment, police said.

According to preliminary information, the jeep was stopped after the road was blocked by a landslide and the accident occurred while attempting to turn it around, police added.
