Buffalo Man Charged With Child Sex Trafficking

LANCASTER, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that it has made an arrest related to human trafficking.

The Lancaster Police Department said Thursday it has identified a possible teen victim of sex trafficking in the city. During a sting operation, officers found the 16-year-old girl at a motel and safely returned her to her family.

Officers also arrested Andrell Montgomery, 21, of Buffalo, on charges of child sex trafficking. He was arraigned before a Lancaster City Judge and then transferred to the Erie County Detention Center. He is being held on $10,000 cash bail.

“It is extremely important to encourage cooperation among agencies and community partners to combat and raise awareness about the victimization and tragic consequences of human trafficking,” Erie County Sheriff John Garcia said Friday. in a press release announcing the arrest.

Lancaster Police Chief William Gummo added, “The outcome of this investigation is indicative of the excellent teamwork between the Lancaster Police Department, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and all members of the anti-human trafficking task force.
