Fort Worth police officers under investigation for use of violence

A Fort Worth police officer is under investigation for using violence against a police observer during an arrest.

Police investigated a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning involving a suspected drunk driver.

Carolyn Rodriguez was there when she filmed the officers. She had nothing to do with the crime or the investigation.

According to police, Rodriguez repeatedly approached and questioned police during a livestream on her social media page.

One of the officers ordered Rodriguez to cross the street and then grabbed her arm to arrest her.

Surveillance and body camera videos show Rodriguez being thrown to the ground, sustaining injuries in the wrestling match.

After receiving medical attention, Rodriguez was arrested for obstruction of public duty, resisting arrest and evading arrest. She posted a picture of her injuries on her social media page.

The police department was unable to identify the arresting officer. He has been transferred while the internal affairs department investigates.

The investigation is also being conducted by a police inspector who works for the city outside the police department.
