Fatal car crash claims life of Twin Falls woman on US93

Early Tuesday afternoon, Idaho State Police responded to a serious crash involving a car and a semi-trailer on US93 south of Twin Falls.

One of the drivers was killed.

Fatal car crash south of Twin Falls on US93

The tragic accident occurred Tuesday afternoon. Idaho State Police responded to the accident at 12:41 p.m. on US93 at mile marker 38, south of Twin Falls. The police report states:

A 37-year-old woman from Twin Falls, ID was driving a 2004 Cadillac Deville southbound on US93 at mile marker 38. The Cadillac crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Freightliner semi-trailer pulling a flatbed trailer traveling northbound on US93. The semi-trailer was driven by a 47-year-old man from Twin Falls, ID. The driver of the Cadillac sustained life-threatening injuries and died of her injuries at the scene.

When the accident occurred, neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. The accident closed northbound and southbound lanes on the highway for about three hours.

In addition to the Idaho State Police response, the Filer Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics and the Idaho Transportation Department provided assistance.

In recent days, two more fatal accidents have occurred in southern Idaho.

On Sunday, ISP responded to a fatal crash north of Shoshone. The crash occurred sometime Saturday night or after midnight Sunday morning. A 20-year-old man was killed when his truck overturned on 520 N near the intersection with 221 E.

A man was killed while riding his motorcycle on I-15 in Bannock County Friday night. The rider was not wearing a helmet when his motorcycle left the road and rolled over in the median.

All accidents in this story are under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
