1 dead after plane crash in Tennessee

MARTIN, Tennessee (WMSV) – One person is dead after a plane crash in West Tennessee, officials said Tuesday morning.

Ray Wiggington, Weakley County emergency management director, said the pilot was experienced and was flying a newer plane – an agricultural aircraft – when it crashed near Vancleave Road in Martin.

The identity of the pilot was not disclosed.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are en route to investigate the cause of the crash.
