6 FIRST WARNING: First heatwave this year, storms possible on Tuesday

OMAHA, Nebraska (WOWT) – Today and Tuesday are the first warning days as we continue to track very high temperatures and storm chances. Intense heat and humidity will leave the Omaha metro groaning this afternoon, leading to heat index readings of 100 to 115 degrees. An extreme heat warning is in effect until 8 p.m. for most of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, including the Omaha metro area.
