MPD: 17-year-old arrested in Florida in connection with fatal shooting in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) – The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a 17-year-old boy involved in a fatal shooting in southeast DC in March 2023 has been arrested and charged.

Police said they responded to a report of a shooting in the 2700 block of Bruce Place on March 7, 2023 at around 7:45 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two men shot dead.

One man died at the scene. He was identified as 23-year-old Dana Faulkner of Southeast DC

The second man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly thereafter, police responded to a report of an unconscious person at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mississippi Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a teenager with life-threatening injuries. He died in the hospital on March 9, 2023.

The boy was identified as 15-year-old Abdul Fuller of Southeast, DC

Police determined that Fuller was injured in the shooting at Bruce Place.

On December 21, 2023, police arrested a 19-year-old man from Northeast, DC on charges of first degree murder while armed.

On June 21, a 17-year-old boy from Northeast, DC, was taken to the MPD Juvenile Processing Center after being extradited from Jacksonville, Florida.

The boy was accused of shooting Dana Faulkner by armed murder.

Police said the case was still under investigation.
