Schenectady man arrested during investigation into child sexual abuse images

SCHENECTADY, ​​NY (NEWS10) — A Schenectady man was arrested after an internet tip led to an investigation into child sexual abuse images, New York State Police reports. Joshua Morrell, 26, faces multiple charges.

On June 20, New York State Police executed a search warrant on Morrell’s home after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received an internet tip. He is accused of distributing and possessing images related to the sexual exploitation of children.

  • Possession of a sexual performance by a child

Morrell was arrested at his home in Schenectady and taken to Princetown State Police. He was taken to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
