Amber Alert issued for missing girl in Louisiana

Two young girls were kidnapped Thursday morning after their mother was murdered in Loranger. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for the two missing girls, who are believed to be with an unknown man. Louisiana State Police issued an Amber Alert for the missing girls at around 12:20 p.m. State Police say an unknown white male is wanted for a domestic violence incident that occurred around the time of the kidnapping and resulted in the murder. According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, the homicide investigation began Thursday morning on North Cooper Road in Loranger. Callie Brunett, 35, of Loranger, was found dead in her home after being missing for over a day. Her two young children, Jalie, 6, and Erin, 4, are missing. Edwards said Brunett’s father found her body on the floor of her bedroom in their trailer Thursday morning. According to Edwards, Brunett’s father reported his daughter missing on Wednesday after she failed to return home. The last time they spoke to her was Tuesday afternoon. Edwards said this is believed to be a domestic incident. Edwards said 36 hours passed between the family last spoke to Burnett and when the children went missing. Jalie is described as 4 feet tall with brown hair and blue eyes. She weighs approximately 55 pounds. Erin is described as 3 feet tall with brown hair and brown eyes. She weighs approximately 32 pounds. It is unknown at this time what type of clothing the girls were last wearing. Detectives say Callie’s car is also missing. It is described as a black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana license plate 859GML. The suspect is believed to be driving the black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana license plate 859GML. The right rear tire on the vehicle is missing a hubcap. The rear of the vehicle may be damaged. Sheriff Edwards asks anyone with information on the whereabouts of the children or vehicle to contact Lt. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for the two missing girls, who are believed to be with an unknown man.

Louisiana State Police issued an Amber Alert about the missing girls at around 12:20 p.m.

State police said an unidentified white male was wanted for questioning in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred at the time of the kidnapping and resulted in the murder.

According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, the investigation into the homicide began Thursday morning on North Cooper Road in Loranger.
