Man dead after shooting outside hotel in northeast Memphis | News

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – One man was killed and two people were arrested after a shooting in northeast Memphis, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of Summer Avenue around 4:30 p.m. and found a man shot.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.

The MPD also announced that two people were arrested in connection with the shooting.

The police did not provide any further details.

FOX13 arrived on the scene and saw two people being handcuffed and loaded into police cars in front of the Elite Hotel, which is on the same block where the shooting occurred.

The crime scene included the front of a nearby Mexican restaurant, the front of the Elite hotel and part of Summer Avenue. Witnesses told FOX13 they saw three people get out of a white car with no license plates and open fire on a man who was also carrying a gun.

Exclusive surveillance video from a nearby business obtained by FOX13 shows the shooter stealing the man’s gun before leaving.
