Tufts doctoral student injured in attack in Chinese park

A graduate student at Tufts University is one of four U.S. college teachers recovering in China after being attacked in a park. Family members say David Zabner was one of four American visitors from Iowa when they were attacked in the northeastern city of Jilin. The State Department said one of the teachers accidentally bumped into a man who then turned and attacked them with a knife. That man is now in custody. All of the teachers were taken to hospital and are expected to recover.

A doctoral student at Tufts University is one of four U.S. university professors recovering in China after being attacked in a park.

Family members said David Zabner was one of four Americans from Iowa who were on their way home when they were attacked in the northeastern city of Jilin.

The Foreign Ministry said one of the teachers accidentally collided with a man, who then turned around and attacked them with a knife.

The man is now in custody.

All instructors were taken to hospital and are expected to recover.
