According to police, a shooting at a shopping center on Marlboro Pike in District Heights around 3:15 p.m. on Monday left one person dead and two injured.

The deceased was a man in his twenties. The other two victims were a man in his sixties, whose condition is stable, and a woman in her fifties, who is undergoing surgery.

The shooting occurred outside a fresh market, but it is not currently believed that anyone inside the building was involved in the shooting; however, the investigation is ongoing.

The evidence found at the crime scene was mainly cartridge cases, but also other objects that people may have dropped.

As part of their investigation, the police will also evaluate surveillance footage from the shopping center.
