Danish police: Attack on Prime Minister probably not ‘politically motivated’

Danish police said on Saturday they did not believe the attack on the country’s prime minister was “politically motivated” as the suspect remained in custody until June 20.

“At this time, we do not believe that the incident was politically motivated,” police said in a statement to X. They added that a judge had remanded the man suspected of hitting Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in a Copenhagen square on Friday evening.
